My first podcast interview, how exciting!

I am new to the world of podcasting, but with all the changes I have experienced this year, I am adapting! I am happy to report that being a guest on a podcast was a fun experience full of laughter and excitement. The podcast is PepTalk Productions Creative Corner, co-hosted by two amazing young entrepreneurs.

The hosts, who have drawn themselves as squirrels with butterfly wings (buttersquirrels), are a delight to work with! They are warm, friendly, and bubbling over with talent. Just the type of people that I love to mentor and cheer on as they grow their futures.

Katie Silverwings is an award winning writer of positive speculative science fiction. I love her characters and the way she blends adventure, aliens and everyday life in a future that I would love to live in. She is also a glass artisan who has just agreed to be the PepTalk Productions Creative Arts Director. Her stained glass suncatchers and custom glass art pieces bring beauty and happiness wherever they are placed.

Ali D. is a talented illustrator and creates sticker art. Her characters are whimsical and inviting. I am not a sticker person, but I have an Ali D. sticker on my laptop because it added humor to the stress of the pandemic and reminded me that I didn’t have to focus on the serious side of the situation all the time. She is working on a wonderful children’s book that has appealing characters that will help children to understand situations and emotions in a positive way. I believe that it will become a popular series.

These two immediately set me at ease and asked interesting questions as we discussed creativity from my point of view. It wasn’t nursing or chaplaincy in the manner that I am used to, but somehow it encompassed both because we talked about hope and joy and how to find peace within regardless of external circumstances or the opinions of others. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and hope to be a guest on other podcasts in the future.
