Sharon T. HintonMeet SharonSharon T. Hinton RN, MSN, FCN, EMT-LP has more than 20 years experience in nursing. She is the Executive Director and lead instructor for Rural Nurse Resource. Sharon trained as a parish/faith community nurse in 1999, and is the parish nurse for the RNR Parish Nurse Community Outreach ministry which serves several rural churches as well as the general commuinity.She is also the Parish Nurse Consultant for UMCOR-Health , and the Northwest Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church Golden Cross/Parish Nurse Coordinator. Sharon is a parish nurse educator through the International Parish Nurse Resource Center, has a Masters Certificate in Pastoral Studies and a Masters Degree in parish nursing from St Joseph's College of Maine. She is the Faith Community Network Chair for the National Health Ministries Association. In addition to parish nursing, Sharon is a published writer and has won several awards for her writing. Currently, Sharon writes a parish nurse column called "Nursing in the Church" for the Journal of Christian Nursing.She speaks nationally on a wide variety of subjects. Sharon lives on the family farm in with her husband,two teenagers, and a very spoiled menagerie of dogs, cats,cows, and wildlife. |
