Meet Sharon

Sharon T. Hinton RN, MSN, FCN, EMT-LP has more than 20 years experience in nursing. She is the Executive Director and lead instructor for Rural Nurse Resource.

Sharon trained as a parish/faith community nurse in 1999, and is the parish nurse for the RNR Parish Nurse Community Outreach ministry. She is also the Parish Nurse Consultant for UMCOR-Health , and the Northwest Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church Golden Cross/Parish Nurse Coordinator.

Sharon is a parish nurse educator through the International Parish Nurse Resource Center, has a Masters Certificate in Pastoral Studies and a Masters Degree in parish nursing from St Joseph's College of Maine.

In addition to parish nursing, Sharon is a published writer and has won several awards for her writing. Currently, Sharon writes a parish nurse column called "Nurse in the Church" for the Journal of Christian Nursing. She speaks nationally on a wide variety of subjects.

Sharon lives on the family farm with a very spoiled menagerie of dogs, cats, cows, and wildlife.
